Justin Bieber is a Canadian singer and songwriter, born on 1 March 1994 at St Joseph’s hospital in London  Ontario,  to a single mother. He is the son of Jeremy Jack Bieber and Pattie Mallette who were never married. Jeremy married his girlfriend Chelsey in February 2018. He has been referred to as The Prince Of Pop and King Of Teen Pop by contemporary journalists. Growing up he learnt to play piano, drum, trumpet, and guitar all by himself. In early 2007, age 12, Justin sang Neyo’s So Sick for a local singing competition in Stratford and was placed second. He started off his career with the help of his mother Pattie Mallette who posted a video of his performance on YouTube for their family and friends to see. She continued to upload videos of Bieber singing covers of various R&B songs, and Bieber’s popularity on the site grew. In the same year Bieber busked shows in front of Avon Theater with a rented guitar during the tour period. In May 2009 Bieber unveiled his first song, the puppy-love-song called One Time.

Former marketing executive of So So recordings clicked his video on YouTube by mistake and he was impressed. Scooter Braun tracked down the theatre Bieber was performing in and finally contacted Pattie Mallette. She was reluctant because of Braun’s Judaism, however church elders convinced her to let Bieber go with Braun. At 13, Bieber went to Atlanta, Georgia to record demo taps. Bieber was soon signed to Raymond Braun Media Group, a joint venture between Braun and  famous R&B singer and songwriter Usher Raymond. Justin Timberlake was also in the running to sign Bieber but he lost the bidding war to Usher. Usher then sought assistance in finding a label home for the artist from the then manager Chris Hicks, who helped engineer and audition with Justin Drew Bieber. Reid signed Bieber to Island Records in 2008 and appointed Hicks as executive Vice-President, where he could manage Bieber’s career at the label. Bieber then moved to Atlanta with his mom to pursue further work with Braun and Usher. Biber’s first single One Time was released to radio while Bieber was still recording his debut album. During fall 2009 the song peaked at number 17 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States. The song was certified platinum in Canada and the US and gold in New Zealand and Australia. Bieber performed for the then president of the US Barack Obama and his first lady Michelle Obama at the White house for Christmas. Bieber was a presenter at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards on January 31, 2010. He was invited to be a vocalist for the remake of We Are The World (a song written by Michael Jackson) and Lionel Richie for its 25th anniversary to benefit Haiti after the earthquake. Bieber released more songs featuring different artists like Ludacris in the song Baby, his mentor Usher in the remix of Somebody To Love, and Souljah Boy on the song Rich Girl. Bieber’s song with Ludacris, Baby became an international hit. It charted on number five on the US Billboard top hundred. It debuted at number one on the US Billboard top two hundred, making him the youngest sole male artist to top the chart since Stevie Wonder in 1963. He became the new face and body of Calvin Klein in early 2015.

Today he has a number of twenty albums which are doing well. Justin Bieber has worked with several popular artists in the music industry, for example Trey Songz, Chris Brown, DJ Khaled, Travis Scott, Kanye West, Quavo, Nicki Minaj, Kehlani, and many others.  He has not stopped since, he extended his career by using many other social media platforms for example Spotify, Apple music, SoundCloud, and Instagram to advertise his songs to his audience. The song  Baby has gained over 2,4 billion views on YouTube. Bieber has been credited with boasting the careers of other singers such as Carly Rae Jepsen and Madison Beer when he tweeted about them in his Twitter account.
